My wife passed away at the Red Deer Hospice. It was a beautiful experience filled with love and compassion. I have had a good life in that my dad died when I was a year old and my mother passed away in Ontario in 1998 from a stroke. So I never have had to experience death of an immediate family member. Being with my daughter and seeing my wife take her final breaths was a very moving experience. She paassed away on the day of the Alzheimer's Memory Walk last June 15 here in Red Deer at 1:00 PM. I did the walk with my daughter and her husband in memory and honour to my wife about 3 hours after the passing. I was the Honorary Walk Marshall and raised over $5000.
