I have signed up for lumosity for challenging my brain. Any thoughts if this is a good web site for doing so?

I think any form of brain exercise is important. In addition, there could be reading, search a word, crosswords or one of my favourites, sidhouko which involves number and reasoning. I don't know how to spell it. Cards are also a great form of entertainment. Anything that engages the brain is brain healthy!

Also, doing as you are doing in researching the internet is a great way to learn other brain healthy skills.

Incidently, this particular topic is for people that are experiencing difficulties ranther than their caregivers. It would be excellent ifothers hat are in the same situation add their ideas on brain health.

Hi Trish, I haven't found a whole lot out there for local live chat in Canada for live chat towards dementia. I know Alzheimer's Canada website had a chat forum but it is difficult to find on their website and I haven't found a whole lot of dicussion going on. The link on the Canadian Alzheimer's website is not prommitly displayed like this discussion link for ASANT with our Alberta Alzheimer's site. Can't remember how to find it on their site. (not dementia friendly) There is a discussion website in the UK that I have found to be pretty robust and found some good information from real lived experiences with people with dementia. They have a live chat link.
Here's the link: http://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/chatroom.php Worth a look. They also have good discusson topics worth looking at. Alot of the posts are somewhat depressing talking about end of life... They beat that to death pretty good. Zone in on the possitive useful info. I found some good discussion on living with the disease as well that could be useful. I'll give you another link. A local website here in Alberta centering on early onset dementia. Good stuff on there that is worth checking out too. They have some useful links as well. http://www.thisisalzheimers.com/ Feel free to share any good info you find as well. Betting people reading this would be interested to know, myself included. Best Regards, Roger Marple

Hi Trish,
Would you be able to give a bit more information on what you mean by a "live chat" section? Any user improvements for the cafe are always welcome! I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hey,
My mother is in her seventies now. She had been suffering from cervical disk disease from her middle age and osteoarthritis. Her knee cartilage has to be replaced as early as possible. She was obese from her middle age, after taking medications for infertility and multiple abortions. I’m her only daughter even though she wished to carry another baby.
Its unfortunate to see that she is taking the help of a wheelchair to move around. Most of the time she confined to bed and is having difficulty walking. The doctor advised her to undergo a knee replacement surgery. I’m relocating to the U.S for her further treatment and surgery. My relatives who can help her out are located there While I get back to work.
There are a lot more things to be cleared before I leave my country. I’m worried about shifting our belongings. Any suggestions Canada USA movers?
I’m not pretty much aware of the entire process. Can you please help out me with this?
Thanks
